Stray Kitties

Saschi and I are both crazy cat ladies (she a seasoned veteran and I a novice), and we both live in neighborhoods with lots of stray cats. Last week I saw two kittens playing on my back porch, and when I went out and tried unsuccessfully to catch them, I saw their mom, a cat we call Bowie who has been eating off of my front porch for nearly a year now.

So I went to the Cat Shoppe here in town and rented a kitten trap, hoping to catch and tame the kittens while they are young and easy to socialize.

When I got home from running some errands today I put the kitten trap out. I'd put the trap out before but hadn't had any luck yet. Today, however, in less than five minutes....

I caught the mom.

So Bowie is now chilling out in the Hotel Squee (my dog's very large crate with litter box, food, water, and towel) while I reset the trap and watch for kittens. I called the Cat Shoppe concerned about the safety of the babies and asked if I should let the mom go but she said to hang on to her and that the kittens should come out looking for her.

Kitten traps, by the way, are NOT made for adult cats. I carried the trap in and she fell out of it! She ran around the living room in a panic, tore up two sets of blinds, and peed all over my window, a set of blinds, and on my couch. Poor baby... I put a blanket over the dog cage to calm her down. Hopefully we'll catch the kittens soon.

what is the meaning of life? what is our purpose?

i have been so incredibly blessed in my lifetime. and i want to take this time and space to acknowledge that. every day blessings touch my life in so many ways. i'm sure that in many ways i dont even notice some of them. life moves too fast! we as a collective get caught up in the superficial flow of surviving, and it is easy to as a result, starve spiritually.

with this in mind we overlook the little things. the little children. the animals. the less fortunate. and now having been blessed with the knowledge of true love and compassion i know that the meaning of life is so very simple. serving others. feeding, touching, protecting, providing shelter to those in need. to ALL of gods creatures. anything that breathes, and that is everything............. is here and now and "it" is our purpose............

Squee and i while so completely different are so strongly connected. we believe. we believe in using the power of love and blessings.

i have been blessed to know Squee. and i do believe she has been blessed to know me. we are partners with a mission. very simple. and we will succeed. we already are.

today, tomorrow, a week from now, help something! feed, nourish, comfort, listen! you will evolve! i promise. and you will transcend into a spiritual flow of abundance. and it will change you forever.

uber groovy

this is saschi! and this is my first blog posting! i wish pee wee herman and his gang were here to ring the bells and dance around!

the goal that squee and i have in mind is to keep this site as positive and uber groovy as possible. life is full of so many bad things. everywhere you look. and it seems like everybody wants something for nothin'. but not here!

this site is about holding on to and forming new traditions creatively. where you'll learn to do quick crafts that you can do with friends to brighten your surroundings, or more intensive work worthy of heirloom status.
